Nicola Formichetti released today uncensored version of his film for Mugler’s Spring/Summer 2012 menswear collection on a porn site.

This full-length version of the film, set to a soundtrack by Jessica 6, who also appears on-camera alongside a team of male models engaging in, well, a lot of things that involve ab-clenching.

“I was interested in the idea of fantasy, dreams and voyeurism” Formichetti says. “I also liked the idea of modern and ancient myths. I live in New York now but grew up in Rome with the baroque and classical architecture and sculpture everywhere. So I suppose this project is a combination of the two things; there are surfers, footballers and classical gods all rolled into one in this film.

I was looking at Italian neo-realist cinema and then post that, where Fellini and Pasolini become more about myth and fantasy. At the same time I loved the idea and accessibility of pornography and that everyday voyeurism on XTube. Fashion is always referencing pornography, so there was an element in doing this film of just ‘cutting out the middleman’, but it is an erotic fashion film nonetheless.

I think a lot of people now think that the porn around at the moment is ‘real’, but it is not. It is total fantasy, these people are like Olympian athletes of sex. What has changed is the look of pornography. I wanted to bring some of that excessive drama and the look of fantasy back to porn – to acknowledge something as over-the-top as Tinto Brass’ Caligula. With the explicit sex scenes left in.

I am always interested in technology and I was particularly interested in the way pornography drives it. It is so user friendly on a porn site like XTube, so instantly about something you would be interested in. When you are alone you can be as free as you want, watch what you want and be who you are – you are not having your taste dictated to you like you are elsewhere. I liked the idea of people watching this film in that way.”, Nicola Frormichetti said.

This promo film is directed by Branislav Jankic and it features male models Matthieu Charneau, Travis Cannata (Ford D), Esmir Redzepagic (Red), Alex Eroe (Request), Peter Pagan, Justin Barnhill (Click), Ellie Ross (One Management), and Nomi Ruiz of Jessica 6. It was released as a two-part film series.

Parts 1 and 2 debut on Tuesday and Wednesday, though the uncensored version made its debut on Thursday, June 23rd, on the infamously free porn website XTube.com as opposed to YouTube.
