French designer, Philippe Di Méo designed tableware inspired by sex toys. The collection of erotic tableware called, Souper Fin (which is a play on words of “fine dining” and “super fine”), was designed in collaboration with legendary luxury French houses such as Baccarat, Goyard, Christofle and Orfèvrerie d’Anjou and for each item, the designer seeked the help of some of the most highly regarded food creatives in the world to create a dish that complemented the utensil or receptacle to perfection.

Sabine Pigalle has created some tactful, reserved and elegante movies about the journey from the art of the table to the bedsheets maybe.

But beyond the artistic and creative performance, this project is a perfect illustration to show how the association between artists and manufacturers can be profitable. In fact some very traditional brand names are often perceived as a little old fashioned, and all of them trade on their tradition and reputation (more than 200 year for Christofle and Baccara, for example) and an idea of luxury as our grandma would choose, and this exhibit gives them new exposure, of a trendy and contemporary vision, to a new audience!

The Main page image relates to the Immaculate Crème Glacé by Claire Smith of L’Eclaireur using Belvedere Vodka, designed to be served in Souper Fin’s Immaculate Crème Glacé vodka cup. This is an emulsion of Belvedere Vodka and Cream of Asparagus topped with Caviar. The cocktail should be made and left to chill 24 hours in advance.
